Day 9 - Santa Fe NM to Amarillo TX UPDATED 6/11
Stayed at the Inn on the Alamdea in Santa Fe. A wonderful Inn and a short walk to downtown. Here are a couple of photos from the internal garden area.
Some views along the road to Amarillo.
We stopped at the Midpoint Cafe located (as the name indicates) at the midpoint of Route 66 between LA and Chicago. We had to sample their Ugly Pie - not at all ugly, and it was delicious.

Example of the typical difference between the Interstate and Route 66
The is Route 66 - our personal highway
This is a not uncommon occurrence of moving 18 wheel roadblocks
Finished the day with a late supper, 8PM, at the Golden Light Cafe. One of the few places open at that hour. It's a small and friendly cafe serving a variety of beers, some wines and comfort food: burgers, grilled cheese, chili, sandwiches.
